The School of Applied Digital Technology is one of the two founding schools established alongside Mae Fah Luang University in 1998. The Bachelor of Science program in Information Technology was the first to be offered in the Academic Year 1999, producing its first cohort of graduates in Academic Year 2002. Since then, the School has continuously expanded its undergraduate and graduate offerings as follows:
Academic Year 1999: Launched the Bachelor of Science program in Information Technology.
Academic Year 2000: Launched the Bachelor of Science program in Computer Science (later renamed to Computer Science and Innovation).
Academic Year 2002: Launched two Bachelor of Engineering programs: Computer Engineering and Communication and Information Engineering.
Academic Year 2005: Launched two Bachelor of Science programs: Software Engineering and Multimedia Technology and Animation.
Academic Year 2007: Introduced graduate studies with the Master of Science in Strategic Information Technology Management (later renamed to Information Technology).
Academic Year 2010: Launched the Master of Engineering program in Computer Engineering.
Academic Year 2013: Launched the Doctor of Philosophy program in Computer Engineering.
Academic Year 2020: Discontinued the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Innovation. The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology was revised and renamed to Digital Technology for Business Innovation.
Academic Year 2021: Revised the Software Engineering program, changing the degree qualification to a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering.
Academic Year 2022: Revised the Bachelor of Engineering in Communication and Information Engineering, renaming it to Digital and Communication Engineering. Additionally, the Master of Science in Information Technology was renamed to Digital Transformation Technology.
Academic Year 2024: Officially rebranded from the "School of Information Technology" to the "School of Applied Digital Technology" to reflect modern industry trends.
Currently, the School of Applied Digital Technology offers a total of 8 programs, comprising 5 Undergraduate, 2 Master’s, and 1 Doctoral program. With 25 cohorts of graduates serving society, our faculty and students consistently publish impactful research and creative works at both national and international levels, while remaining dedicated to academic services and the preservation of regional arts and culture.
