The DTBI program originated from the vision of the School of Information Technology, which recognizes the rapid changes in technology affecting human life, especially in communication—a fundamental human activity for various other sectors, such as professional careers. Digital technology has played a significant role in business, not only for public relations and consumer communication but also as a core mechanism for operations. This is evident in diverse services related to trading, food services, and mobile services that can be accessed from any location, at any time, via any device connected to the internet. Therefore, providing a curriculum focused on applying technology for business benefits is in high demand, particularly in Thai society, which has high production capacity but still lacks efficient marketing and sales accessible to those with limited technical knowledge. This presents a great opportunity for students and interested individuals to train as modern entrepreneurs who apply digital technology to bridge the gap between producers and consumers.
The DTBI program focuses on creating startup-style entrepreneurs, offering various courses related to entrepreneurship and startups. Within the 5 major elective courses, students can also choose subjects in the areas of data analytics and digital marketing. Graduates can pursue careers as entrepreneurs, digital marketers, systems analysts, and data analysts.
The curriculum provides modern and practical courses. Additionally, it implements a new instructional model through project-based learning, allowing students to work on real-world challenges and learn through an integrated approach rather than separate subjects. This helps learners see the connections between different disciplines in planning, implementation, and real problem-solving. This is a 4-year Bachelor of Science program, totaling 120 credits, following the standards of the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Higher Education. However, the school manages the instruction so that students can graduate in less than 4 years by completing all coursework within the 3rd year and undertaking an internship in the first semester of the 4th year. This aims to encourage learners to enter professional life sooner. During their time at the university, students will learn and engage in trial and error across various dimensions of digital business.
