On February 13-14, 2025, the School of Applied Digital Technology at Mae Fah Luang University organized a programming development competition, welcoming high school students from three participating schools in Chiang Rai: Damrongratsongkroh School, Municipal School 6 of Chiang Rai, and the Chiang Rai Provincial Administrative Organization School. A total of 60 students took part in the event, with each school contributing 20 participants. To encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange, students were grouped into teams of six, comprising two representatives from each school.
The competition aimed to enhance students’ technological skills and foster innovation through three key components. Firstly, participants engaged in designing User Stories and UI/UX to conceptualize a functional application. Secondly, they developed a software prototype—either a standalone software solution or one integrated with hardware—utilizing knowledge acquired from AI Teach. Finally, they created a Business Model Canvas, presenting their strategies for applying the developed application to address environmental challenges. Throughout the event, senior students from Mae Fah Luang University provided guidance and support to the participants, ensuring that they could effectively develop their projects. Additionally, food and beverages were provided to all participants for the duration of the competition.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Asst.Prof. Nacha Chondamrongkul, Acting Dean of the School of Applied Digital Technology, along with Dr. Kemachart Kemavuthanon, Acting Assistant Dean, and Dr. Nikorn Rongbutsri, the event’s coordinator. Before the competition commenced, students received training from university seniors on various relevant topics to prepare them for the development process. On the final day, February 14, each team was required to present their project within a four-minute timeframe.
The competition received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with participants gaining valuable knowledge, forming new friendships, and enjoying a dynamic and engaging learning experience. The School of Applied Digital Technology plans to continue organizing this event annually, fostering continuous learning and technological innovation among young learners.
