On June 28–29, 2025, the School of Digital Technology, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) organized a two-day workshop titled “Inspire with Digital Technology” for more than 150 high school students from Damrongratsongkroh School, Chiang Rai. The event was held at the school’s advanced laboratories located in Buildings S1 and S7 at MFU.

The workshop featured three parallel hands-on training tracks:

Track 1: Introduction to IoT with ESP32

Led by Dr. Kemachart Kemavuthanon and Mr.Thapakorn Sasiwimonlak, this session introduced students to microcontroller fundamentals using the ESP32, including basic circuit building, sensor connections, and programming techniques, laying the foundation for future studies in engineering and electronics.

Track 2: Prompt Engineering with Language Models
Facilitated by Dr.Tew Hongthong and Asst.Prof. Yootthapong Tongpaeng, students explored how to design effective prompts for large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini to automate tasks like code generation, data analysis, and application development.

Track 3: 3D Character Design for Art Toys
Taught by Mr.Ratchanon Nobnop and Ms. Siwaporn Boonsamuan, this creative session introduced students to the principles of character design and 3D modeling using tools like Blender, Maya, and Nomad Sculpt — helping them build their first Art Toy prototypes and gain inspiration for careers in animation, gaming, and digital art.

The program combined interactive lectures and hands-on learning throughout both days (6 hours per day), with strong support from MFU faculty, staff, and researchers.

The initiative aims to inspire young minds, promote digital skills, and prepare students for future careers in STEM and creative industries. It aligns with MFU’s mission to foster knowledge for a sustainable and well-balanced future.
